上善若水，是中国古代哲学家孔子提出的一个思想，意思是最好的行为模式就像是水一样，能够适应环境，柔中又有刚劲，能够化解危机，又能够推动事物向前发展。
上善若水的典故有很多，其中最有名的是战国时期的楚国名将项梁的故事。项梁曾经担任过楚国的宰相，他的政治才能和军事才能都被世人所称赞。但是，他在位时却经常受到同僚的排挤和攻击，使得他的政治地位不断下降。
有一次，项梁在一次宴会上遇到了孔子，孔子问项梁：“ why do you always face difficulties and攻击 from your colleagues? ”
项梁回答道：“ my colleague is like the water, he is soft and flexible, but also strong and powerful. He can flow through difficult channels and reach the goal faster than anyone else. But he is also very difficult to understand and control. ”
孔子听了之后，深深地被项梁的精神所感动，他称赞项梁说：“ you are a true friend of the state, your talent and courage are worthier than any other man\’s. ”
此后，项梁的事业再次得到了提升，他成为了楚国的国王。这也说明了，上善若水，是一种适应环境，柔中有刚，能够化解危机，又能够推动事物向前发展的精神。
